The story of the US/China Friendship Camp, an experiment in intercultural relations
Summary: China Journal is the record of a fascinating experiment in intercultural relations. It is a warm and moving account of the growth of friendship and understanding between two groups of teenagers from vastly different cultural and political heritages. It documents the experiences of sixty American and Chinese high school students and their four weeks together in Beijing, Beidaihe-by-the-Sea, and the grasslands of Inner Mongolia. The students are members of the US/China Friendship Camp, the only cultural exchange of its kind between the two countries.
